Sampling Spaces Project, developed within the framework of Tescani International Painting Camp 2009, represents the next step in consolidating “George Enescu” National Museum ’s annual initiative to sustain and encourage the contemporary creative field. Launching this opportunity, that rapidly caught artists’ interest, the project created a cultural network which succeeds in cultivating the dialogue between museum and contemporary art on a common ground. Sampling Spaces Project benefited from the participation of a variety of artists, both young or already known artists, interested in working with the wide range of artistic media, including curatorial work.
Although distinctive, the works of art produced within the project proposed a visual analysis of the concept of space as a site of specific difference. In their approaches, artists engaged the concrete meanings of the notion, in a very generous expression and also the extensions that allows the investigation of the personal memory, the recent history or the urban architecture under transition.
